| PCB Desktop Selective Conformal Coating Machine

The Desktop Conformal Coating Machine is engineered for precise, selective coating of PCBs in small-batch or prototype production. Three-axis motion with stepper motors and synchronous belt drives ensures repeatability of ±0.1mm. Operators can program points, lines, and complex curves via a handheld control unit. The system supports board sizes from 50×50 to 400×400mm and heights up to 80mm. Equipped with 10L material and 2L cleaning tanks, it handles UV, epoxy, and solvent-based coatings. Quick product change, compact structure, and intuitive control make it ideal for PCBA assembly lines requiring flexibility, accuracy, and repeatable results.

Multi-Axis Selective Coating

The desktop system uses a three-axis robot to precisely apply conformal coatings, supporting selective application on small, medium, and high-density PCBs. Spray valves are adjustable for various viscosities and coating types, including UV and epoxy. Height detection compensates for small variations in PCB flatness. Edge recognition and anti-drip functions maintain uniform coverage and prevent material overflow. The robot can execute points, lines, circles, arcs, and irregular curves continuously. This ensures reproducible, high-quality coating for sample production, prototype boards, or low-volume PCBA assembly lines.

Flexible Board Handling

The machine features a compact conveyor and holder setup, accommodating PCB thicknesses from 0.4 to 6mm and dimensions 50×50 to 400×400mm. Stepper-driven transport ensures precise positioning during coating. Quick-change fixtures and anti-block design reduce downtime between products. Boards are stabilized during the coating process to maintain uniform application. The desktop format allows placement on a workstation, making it suitable for engineering labs, small-batch production, and flexible assembly environments where space and accuracy are priorities.

Material Delivery and Control

Material is supplied via 10L adhesive tanks and 2L cleaning tanks with regulated air pressure between 4.5–6 Kg/cm². The system maintains consistent flow to ensure uniform layer thickness. Operators can program paths and coating volumes using the teaching box, ensuring precise micro-volume dispensing. The desktop machine supports quick adjustments for different materials or PCB designs. Independent cleaning cycles reduce contamination risk, and the controlled environment guarantees repeatable, high-quality results across multiple PCBA assemblies.

Q: Do all PCBs have conformal coating?

A: The majority of circuit boards or PCBA's usually don't receive a conformal coating. Most circuit boards are completely put together using an SMT Coating Machine, with all the electronic parts attached to a PCB (printed circuit board), and then they're placed inside protective housings or enclosures as the final step in making a device.


Q: How many types of conformal coatings are there?

A: Conformal coatings, which can be applied using an SMT Coating Machine, usually fall into four categories: Acrylic, Urethane, Silicone, and Varnish. Each of these has its unique traits, but they can all do one important job: insulation. This means they let conductors be closer together without causing problems.
