I.C.T engineer Andy recently provided on-site technical support at a customer facility in Portugal, supporting the setup and optimization of an SMT assembly line for automotive electronics.
The customer specializes in automotive lighting systems and control modules, where product reliability and process consistency are critical. To meet these requirements, the SMT line was configured with a fully automatic stencil printer, a 3D SPI system, and two pick-and-place machines, forming a stable and efficient production setup.
During the visit, Andy worked closely with the customer’s engineering team on machine installation, process tuning, and real production trials. Special focus was placed on solder paste printing stability, placement accuracy, and overall line coordination to ensure consistent quality across different product types.
In addition to technical adjustments, hands-on training was provided to help the customer’s team better understand daily operation, product changeover, and basic troubleshooting. This allowed them to quickly move from initial setup to stable production.
With on-site support, the SMT line was not only installed but also optimized for reliable day-to-day operation — an essential step for automotive electronics manufacturing.
