I.C.T has completed an on-site technical service visit in Mexico, supporting an automotive electronics manufacturer with its automatic soldering robot. The machine has been set up, tuned and handed back to production, and the customer's operators now run it on their own.
The customer builds electronic assemblies for automotive applications, where solder joint consistency matters more than raw throughput. Every joint has to come out the same, shift after shift, which puts the burden on machine setup and process parameters rather than on operator skill.
On site, I.C.T service engineers went through the machine end to end: mechanical setup, teaching and checking of soldering paths, and adjustment of soldering parameters — tip temperature, dwell time and solder feed — against the customer's own boards. Trial boards were run and inspected before the machine was released, and the settings were recorded so the same result can be reproduced after a changeover.
With the visit finished, the automatic soldering robot is running regular production. The customer's operators were trained on daily startup, program recall, tip care and routine checks, so changeovers and day-to-day adjustments no longer depend on outside help.
On-site service is part of I.C.T's support for installed equipment. Automotive electronics customers in particular work to tight process windows, and having the equipment set up, verified and understood on the shop floor is what keeps it producing there.
