If you’re shopping for lighting, you’ll find LED technology now dominates the market. At present, China has become a major producer, export and consumer of led lighting products in the word.
Compared to traditional lighting, LED have the advantage of long service life. The average lifespan of an LED is 100,000 hours. The lifespan of most fluorescent and metal halide lamps is only a quarter of that of LED. Ordinary incandescent light bulbs have a shorter lifespan.
LED consume very low power. Luminous efficiency or useful lumens. These two essentially describe the amount of light emitted per unit of power (watts) consumed by the bulbs, and most LED lighting retrofit projects can improve the overall energy efficiency of facility lighting by 60-75%.



When it comes to lighting, safety is probably the most often overlooked advantage. The number one hazard in lighting is heat dissipation. LED emit almost no forward heat, whereas traditional light bulbs like incandescent lamps convert more than 90% of the total energy used to power them directly into heat. This means that only 10% of incandescent energy is actually used for lighting (which also makes them extremely inefficient compared to LED).
CRI is a measure of the ability of light to display the actual color of an object compared to natural light. A high CRI is usually a desirable characteristic. In terms of CRI, LED generally have very high ratings.

Because LED are so small, they can be used in almost any application you can think of. They can be combined into traditional bulbs, used individually as small appliance lights, or strung out sequentially in a linear fashion. Pretty much anything you can think of can be done with LED.
LED can operate at any percentage of rated power (0 to 100%). It's worth noting that one benefit of running LEDs at less than full power is that they become more efficient as the power is reduced. This also increases the overall life of the lamp itself.
Traditional lighting such as fluorescent or mercury lamps pollutes the environment. Both of these traditional solutions contain mercury inside the bulb and therefore require special handling at the end of the product's useful life. But LED don't need to think so much.

LED work well in very cold or high temperature ranges without appreciable degradation.
