At I.C.T, we're always excited to support our customers wherever they are, and our latest trip to the Indonesia was no exception. One of our valued EMS partners – a factory specializing in electronic assembly – reached out for help with their new I.C.T-5700 PCBA Router Machine. This isn't their first purchase from us; they already have our PCBA Selective Conformal coating machine running strong in their main facility. For this second plant, they chose the 5700 to handle precise PCB cutting and separation, enhance their production line efficiency.
Our goal with every after-sales visit is straightforward: get the equipment installed right, train the team thoroughly and ensure everything runs without a hitch. We sent our engineer, Mike, over last week to handle the job on-site. Over a few days, he worked closely with their staff to unpack, set up, and optimize the machine. Upon arrival, the team inspected the machine for any shipping damage – frame, cables, and all. Everything checked out fine. They connected the power, signals, and dust collector, making sure the collector rotated correctly to avoid any mess. Leveling came next, followed by powering up and testing the homing process to confirm smooth operation.
Training was a big focus. Mike guided their operators through creating cutting programs, from loading PCBs to defining cutter paths and running tests. They practiced on several boards to build confidence. A common issue popped up with dust and board scraps due to a small gap in the fixture causing vacuum leaks. A quick seal with tape and some design tweaks fixed it, keeping the workspace clean.
Another minor snag: the camera and cutter weren't aligning perfectly. Mike recalibrated it step by step – something we'd covered before with their coating machine, but a refresher helped. He explained the dual-head system (using the main head primarily, with the secondary as backup) and how to troubleshoot tool break alerts.
